SOUND Royalty Free Series of Photographs

Each CD-ROM contains 200 royalty free music clips (roughly one hour of sound) divided into short segments suitable as audio enhancements for multimedia presentations and Web sites. Each sound clip is provided in AIFF, 'snd', and Sound Designer II format (8-bit, 22kHz).

We have made smaller demonstration versions of these music clips available here for use on the Web in '.au' format. The CD-ROMs are commercially available (US$99.00 each) for Macintosh only. To order any Multimedia Library product e-mail us or call us (1-212-674-1958 or toll free in the US only, 1-800-362-4978).

Volume 1 - Music for Multimedia, contains clips of rock and pop-sounding music, polyrhythms, fanfares, traditional and modernized Christmas carols, hymns, Renaissance viola selections, children's songs, and solo piano interludes, etc.

Multimedia presentations can be greatly enhanced by the addition of music to fill in graphical 'dead space'. Fanfares to underline key thoughts; drums to lend drama; a popular-style background ostinato: these can turn an ordinary presentation into something special. Music of the right flavor can lend sharp resonances to presentation elements: hard-driving rhythms for excitement, music of suspense to catch the viewer's attention, the stately music of the Baroque to lend dignity and weight, holiday music or church hymns for reference to special contents.

Volume 2 - Ethnic Music for Multimedia, contains African, Greek, Irish, Indian, Latin American, and American Folk music for royalty-free use in multimedia presentations.

This second Multimedia Library CD-ROM sound collection supplies the developer needing specialized musical backgrounds with an expanded set of musical excerpts emphasizing acoustic and ethnic music. Numerous Greek, South American, Hindu, Irish, and American Folk excerpts are provided, along with a 'Miscellaneous' category that includes Tongan plainsong, panflute pieces in the Andes Mountain style, drum polyrhythms, and an assortment of classical and acoustic pieces. Except in the few cases in which a longer excerpt from a piece of music was appropriate for some special reason, most of the excerpts collected are less than one minute long.

The Multimedia Library extends its thanks to the performing musicians and composers in the following list: Bill Barns, Andy Richard, Sandy Barns, David Robinson, Jaime Betancourt, Demitri Sahnas, Todd Chuba, Athanasios Sahnas, Dom Moio, Diana Robinson, Karen Morrissey, and Jack Schwartz.
