Jigsaw Puzzles

Use this page to access The Multimedia Library's unique collection of Online Jigsaw Puzzles, available through either the Netscape 4 (Communicator) or Internet Explorer 4.0 browsers. These puzzles use the new Layers feature of Netscape 4. Click here to download Netscape 4.

Puzzles are available in either an easy form (all pieces presented in correct orientation; no rotation of pieces needed) or in a hard form, more like that of a standard puzzle with wood pieces (pieces presented in random orientations, and so must sometimes be rotated to be fit together.)

To work a puzzle, drag its pieces until matching pieces contact each other. If the match is correct, they will 'click' into place, after which they will move together as a group.

To rotate pieces in a hard-form puzzle, hold any key down. This will cause three small rotator icons to appear under the cursor. Drag-and-drop the desired rotator onto any piece or any 'snapped' group of pieces to rotate it.

Note: All pieces are downloaded (cached) to your machine (takes about 90 seconds). You can then work on the puzzles offline.
