Finally pulled my kayak over the tracks on the way to Turtle Pond.

Turtle Pond turned into Slang Pond. This photo was taken on the portage route from Slang Pond to Long Pond. I paddled to the northwest corner of Turtle Pond to follow the small, gravelly stream to Slang Pond.

The Mountain Pond carry landing site was quite muddy but I managed to climb out over the large tree roots on the right. I had the landing area all to myself to change into my hiking boots for the hike up Long Pond Mountain.

After following the portage trail to Mountain Pond I picked up the trail to Long Pond Mountain.

Mountain Pond was totally deserted and very beautiful. I rested by its shores and prepared for my climb to Long Pond Mountain.
