This panorama was shot in Row J in the Orchestra section of the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center in New York City. The Metropolitan Opera House opened in Lincoln Center in September of 1966 replacing the he first Metropolitan Opera House was built on Broadway and 39th Street.

Each season the Metropolitan stages more than two hundred opera performances in New York City. More than 800,000 people attend the performances in the opera house during each season.
